Scope note

Works that can be used to measure psychological variables, such as diagnostic or personality tests. Psychometric tests often take the form of digital or analog questionnaires. However, psychometric tests can also include other types of instruments, such as observational assessments, computer programs or devices used to measure psychological variables.

2026-01-27: Introduced as a new genre, in anticipation of adding tests and questionnaires from PSYNDEX Tests. Also to replace the old BE/DT 'Test' which was not carried over to its replacement vocabulary 'issuances' for instances, since 'test' describes a work type, not the form in which it was published or issued. Tests should now be classified as genre 'test' (for their work). Their instances should be classified with an appropriate issuance such as 'Kit', 'Supplement/Appendix', 'Gray Literature', 'Journal Article', 'Book' etc.
